Prime Care Clinic was founded on the premise that health care should be affordable, personalized, and locally accessible. With these objectives as a daily priority, our staff has built a unique connection to Mississippians who trust us to serve them with dignity and honor.

Our team is comprised of some of the most talented health care administers in Mississippi. We have decades of experience serving the community and have built strong relationships in the local area.

Melissa Barham Jackson, AGNP-C

Prime Care Clinic Founder

Since graduating from nursing school in 2003, Melissa has spent almost 2 decades caring for a wide range of patient populations. She worked for 15 years at the beside in the critical care setting at University of Mississippi Medical center. She also worked closely with the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency as assistant to the coordinators.

Since earning her Master of Science in nursing with a concentration in Adult Gerontology Primary Care, she has provided medical care to patients in the urgent and primary care settings. She was also the lead nurse practitioner for the stroke clinic at the only comprehensive stroke center in the state.

Melissa felt called to serve in healthcare from a very early age. Melissa is married to Justin Jackson (from Natchez). They have 4 children Kate, John, Walker, and Blair. They attend First Baptist Church of Clinton. There she and Justin, lead in many different areas including youth growth group leader, Wednesday night activity leader, choir/ensemble, and have both served on a variety of committees as well. When not at church or at the clinic, you will find Melissa at a track meet, soccer, or baseball field.

A board certified Advanced Practice Nurse, Melissa is a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Melissa Jackson, AGNP-C

Melissa Jackson is the founder of Prime Care Clinic and has served in the healthcare industry in Mississippi her entire career.

Hunter Gelston, FNP-C

Hunter began her nursing journey at Mississippi State University before graduating with a BSN from Belhaven University in 2018. Since then, she’s worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Batson Children’s Hospital. In December 2023, she completed her MSN at the University of South Alabama and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She currently lives in Madison with her husband Evan (a Clinton native), their daughter Tilly, and their German Shorthaired Pointer, Lottie. She is grateful to serve her community with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Ainsley White, RT (R)

Ainsley is a registered radiologic technologist who has been provided compassionate and skilled care since earning her degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2011. She lives in Clinton, MS with her husband Doug and their three daughters – Addison, Amery, and Merritt. Ainsley is proud to be part of the Prime Care Clinic team, where she brings dedication and warmth to every patient interaction.
